"My Downfalls Make Me Stronger" June 11, 1781
Today my father has my brothers working in the field. However, while they are working, I must stay inside and do housework. Sometimes I despise the fact that I was born a sickly child; it restricts me to what I can and cannot do. Normally, my mother would be the one doing the work that is now my responsibility, but being that she died giving birth to me, there is no one to take on her previous responsibilities. Therefore, I have taken them on since my father and two brothers already have the duties of up keeping the fields. Never the less, I was born as I am, and I must appreciate that am living to see this day. The good think about not being able to work as my brothers do, is that I have more time and opportunity to learn. I love to read and learn new things about such that I have never known of before. Benjamin Franklin is my all time favorite. I have learned so much from him and his books. They have inspired me to want to learn more and more every day. I look up to him because he is not only a wise, intelligent man, but he is a effective inventor as well. My father sometimes scolds me for tampering with things in the house, trying to create new things. I am still well on my way however, to becoming like him. That is my dream, and I will achieve it!
