Peace Revived [September 3, 1783]
Dear Diary,
The long awaited end has come. Finally, after 8 years, the rvolution has finally come to an end, and it has been garenteed by the Treaty of Paris. This treaty basically ended the war between great Britain and the thirteen colonies. It was signed in Hotel de York i Paris, and the colonies have never been happier. I personally have never been happier. In the time that the revolution had been occuring, i had gotten married, and to top it off, i have two beautifull children, Clarrise and Matthew. I was jsut about ready to relax, after all i had done for the revolution, i was tired. I needed a break. But for eight long years i have been unable to write in my precious diary, for i have been too busy providing the soldiers with the required food and shelter they needed in order to gain us independance. I would say, on average i had probably housed about 100,000 soldiers in my house since the beginning of the revolution, and fed them enough food to feed all of Europe. Many people have suffered greatly, but the loss and sacrafice we have made is nothing compared to the gain we all have acquired. Im a glad to have been a part of such a time where my choices, my effort, and my life had effect and given my children the oppertunity to start a brand new, free life.
