Peace Revived [September 3, 1783]
Dear Diary,
The long awaited end has come. Finally, after 8 years, the rvolution has finally come to an end, and it has been garenteed by the Treaty of Paris. This treaty basically ended the war between great Britain and the thirteen colonies. It was signed in Hotel de York i Paris, and the colonies have never been happier. I personally have never been happier. In the time that the revolution had been occuring, i had gotten married, and to top it off, i have two beautifull children, Clarrise and Matthew. I was jsut about ready to relax, after all i had done for the revolution, i was tired. I needed a break. But for eight long years i have been unable to write in my precious diary, for i have been too busy providing the soldiers with the required food and shelter they needed in order to gain us independance. I would say, on average i had probably housed about 100,000 soldiers in my house since the beginning of the revolution, and fed them enough food to feed all of Europe. Many people have suffered greatly, but the loss and sacrafice we have made is nothing compared to the gain we all have acquired. Im a glad to have been a part of such a time where my choices, my effort, and my life had effect and given my children the oppertunity to start a brand new, free life.

A Cry Heard [April 18, 1775]
Dear Diary,
Oh, How times have changed. Just not so long ago, we had been under the control of King George. And being his faithful servents, doing all as he had pleased. But after a while, as all people with all the power would become, he began to seem like a tyrant; and we had jsut about enough. Now there is a revolution going on, and it is about time that we have rebeled. Just not that long ago, I heard Paul revere, one of the minutemen shouting "The British are coming! The British are coming!", in order to warn all the minutemen, and withint seconds there were thousands of men out to defend us and get us the liberty we desired. Shooting began shortly after, and thousands of men in lexington have gone out to fight, while their wives and children spend the night axiously awaiting some sign of victory. Of course, being only sixteen and getting the chance to experience this life changing event is a memorable experience, and living the moment that our parents, brothers, and grandparents go out in order to defend our rights and independance is something that i will ensure that is a legacy kept of the 13 colonies, and tonight the decisn will be made of the future of us and the future generations. It will be late for the outcome, and mother wants me to rest, so i will write as soon as news comes.
Yours Faithfully,
Lily Thompson
